Senior Draftsman
Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE
Reports To: Technical Office Engineer / Project Manager
Job Purpose:
To lead the drafting team in producing high-quality, accurate, and coordinated shop drawings for all disciplines, serving as the final checker before submission to the consultant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the work of Draftsmen, assigning tasks, setting priorities, and ensuring adherence to project drawing standards.
- Review and approve all in-house and subcontractor-prepared shop drawings, details, and schedules before formal submission.
- Perform detailed coordination (clash detection) between architectural, structural, and MEP services using Navisworks or similar BIM tools.
- Develop complex standard details and solutions for recurring construction elements.
- Liaise with site engineers and foremen to incorporate practical construction feedback into drawings.
- Maintain the master drawing register and ensure all revisions are properly controlled and distributed.
- Lead the effort in preparing the comprehensive set of as-built drawings at project close-out.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma in Civil/Architectural Drafting or Engineering.
- Minimum of 10-12 years of experience in construction drafting, with at least 4 years in a supervisory role.
- Expert proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit. Experience with Navisworks is essential.
- Extensive experience in producing coordinated shop drawings for high-rise buildings.
- Strong understanding of construction techniques and sequences.
