Safety Officer (3 Positions)
Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE
Reports To: HSE Manager
Job Purpose:
To enforce and monitor the project HSE plan on a daily basis, promoting a zero-harm culture and ensuring full compliance with OSHAD-SF, Abu Dhabi EHSMS, and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily site safety inspections, audits, and hazard hunts, issuing observations/correction notices and ensuring closure.
- Deliver daily toolbox talks and safety inductions for all new workers.
- Monitor and enforce the Permit-to-Work system (Hot Work, Confined Space, Working at Height, etc.).
- Inspect all plant, equipment, scaffolding, and temporary works for safety compliance.
- Investigate all incidents, near-misses, and accidents, preparing detailed reports with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Maintain safety records, including training registers, inspection logs, and equipment certificates.
- Conduct weekly safety meetings with subcontractor supervisors.
- Ensure the availability, correctness of use, and condition of all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Promote safety awareness through campaigns and signage.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Mandatory: NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) or equivalent.
- Mandatory: OSHAD Practitioner or Registered HSE Officer qualification.
- Mandatory: Valid UAE driving license.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Safety Officer in UAE construction, with high-rise experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and persuasion skills. Must be assertive and proactive.
