Position Overview
The Associate Director of Operations is a pivotal role within the Group Operations leadership team. This individual will be instrumental in driving operational excellence, optimizing performance, and ensuring brand standards across the entire Modon Hospitality portfolio. The role requires a seasoned F&B expert with a blend of strategic vision and hands-on operational expertise to support both existing assets and new developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Operational Support: Act as a key lieutenant to the Group Operations leadership, translating group strategy into actionable plans for hotels and restaurants.
- Performance Management: Monitor, analyze, and drive the operational and financial performance of the portfolio. Conduct regular property reviews and implement corrective action plans where necessary.
- F&B Concept Development & Innovation: Leverage strong F&B knowledge to contribute to the creation, development, and refinement of new and existing food & beverage concepts, ensuring market relevance and financial viability.
- Pre-Opening & Project Leadership: Provide critical expertise and hands-on support for all new openings (both hotels and standalone restaurants), guiding teams through the pre-opening phase to ensure flawless launches.
- Financial Stewardship: Apply strong financial acumen to manage and advise on P&L performance, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control initiatives across the portfolio.
- Standards & Compliance: Uphold and audit brand standards, service quality, and health & safety protocols to ensure consistency and excellence.
- Leadership & Collaboration: Foster a culture of high performance. Collaborate effectively with General Managers, Property Directors of F&B, and other key stakeholders (Commercial, Marketing, HR, Finance) to achieve collective goals.
- Talent Development: Support the identification and development of high-potential operational talent within the group.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience:
- 5-10 years of progressive leadership experience in hospitality operations, with a minimum of 5 years as a Director of Food & Beverage in large-scale or multi-outlet luxury hotels/resorts.
- Proven track record in F&B concept development, from ideation to implementation.
- Essential pre-opening experience for both hotels and standalone restaurants.
- Experience in a multi-unit, group, or regional office role is a significant advantage.
- Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong Financial Acumen: Demonstrated experience managing multi-million dollar P&Ls, with deep understanding of budgets, COGS, labor costs, and profitability drivers.
- Exceptional Leadership & Communication: Ability to influence, mentor, and collaborate with diverse teams and senior stakeholders.
- Strategic & Analytical Mindset: Data-driven with the ability to solve complex problems and drive continuous improvement.
- Expertise in Operational Systems: Proficiency in hospitality management systems (e.g., MICROS, Oracle, PMS) and MS Office.
