QA Officer (Quality Assurance Officer)
Reports To: QA Manager / Head of Quality
Summary: The QA Officer is responsible for monitoring and enforcing quality standards throughout the production or service process. This role ensures that all products and outputs consistently meet predefined specifications, safety regulations, and customer expectations through inspection, testing, and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections and audits of processes, raw materials, in-production items, and finished goods/services against quality standards.
- Testing & Documentation: Perform or coordinate standardized tests (e.g., weight checks, temperature checks, functionality tests). Accurately record findings and maintain detailed quality control logs and reports.
- Non-Conformance Management: Identify, quarantine, and document non-conforming products. Investigate root causes of quality issues and work with production/operations teams on corrective actions.
- Compliance Monitoring: Ensure all processes comply with internal Quality Management Systems (QMS) and external regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, ISO, HACCP).
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in quality improvement projects and initiatives. Provide training to operational staff on quality procedures and standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 2+ years of experience in a QA/QC role within a relevant industry (FMCG, manufacturing, food & beverage).
- Knowledge of quality assurance methodologies, standards, and regulatory frameworks.
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office and quality management software.
