Senior Accountant
Reports To: Financial Controller / Finance Manager
Summary: The Senior Accountant performs complex accounting activities and financial analyses to ensure the integrity of accounting information. This role is responsible for period-end closing, financial reporting, reconciliation, and providing guidance to junior accounting staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) in accordance with GAAP/IFRS. Manage the month-end and year-end close processes.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts. Review and post complex journal entries.
- Reconciliations: Perform detailed reconciliation of bank accounts, intercompany transactions, and key balance sheet accounts.
- Analysis & Compliance: Conduct variance analysis and investigate discrepancies. Assist with budget preparation and audit processes (internal and external). Ensure compliance with accounting policies and tax regulations.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes, systems, and internal controls.
- Team Supervision: May supervise and mentor junior accountants or accounting clerks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA/CA or equivalent qualification preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
