Maintenance Technician
Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor / Facilities Manager
Summary: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine and emergency maintenance, repairs, and inspections on equipment, machinery, and facilities to ensure optimal operational condition, safety, and minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preventive Maintenance: Execute scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) tasks on equipment (e.g., HVAC, kitchen appliances, production machinery, building systems) as per checklists.
- Repairs & Troubleshooting: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues. Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns.
- Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment to identify potential problems and safety hazards.
- Record Keeping: Accurately log all maintenance and repair work, including parts used and time spent, in a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) or work order system.
- Vendor Coordination: Assist in coordinating with external contractors for specialized repairs or projects. Monitor their work for quality and compliance.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations (OSHA, etc.). Ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or apprenticeship in a relevant trade (electrical, mechanical, HVAC) is a strong plus.
- 3+ years of hands-on maintenance experience in a commercial, industrial, or multi-site environment.
- Broad mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
- Strong commitment to safety.
