Reporting to: Chief Estimator / Commercial Manager
Mandatory Requirements:
- BE / B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
- 5–8 years of experience in cost estimation, specifically for landscape or civil construction projects.
- Proven experience working on projects with a value of AED 100 million or more.
- Proficiency in CAD, BIM (Building Information Modeling), Revit, and Candy (or similar) estimation software.
Detailed Job Description:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Cost Estimator to prepare accurate and competitive bids for major landscape tenders. The role requires a strong engineering background and software expertise to translate complex drawings and BIM models into comprehensive cost plans, ensuring the company's competitive edge in securing large-scale projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze tender documents, drawings, specifications, and BIM models to understand project scope and requirements fully.
- Perform detailed quantity take-offs (QTO) from CAD and Revit models for all landscape elements: hardscape, softscape, irrigation, drainage, and external works.
- Prepare comprehensive cost estimates, including direct costs (materials, labor, equipment), subcontractor quotes, and indirect costs (preliminaries, overheads, profit).
- Source and evaluate material prices and subcontractor quotations to ensure cost competitiveness.
- Utilize Candy or equivalent software to build robust and accurate estimation models.
- Identify potential risks, ambiguities, and value-engineering opportunities during the tender stage.
- Collaborate with the design, planning, and project management teams to develop cost-effective methodologies.
- Prepare clear, well-structured tender submission documents and commercial proposals.
- Assist in post-tender negotiations and clarifications.
Competencies & Skills:
- Technical Expertise: Advanced skills in CAD, BIM/Revit for quantification, and specialized estimation software (Candy, CCS, or similar).
- Analytical Mindset: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in working with numbers and complex documents.
- Market Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction costs, material supply chains, and subcontractor markets in the UAE/GCC.
- Communication: Ability to present complex cost data clearly to management and non-commercial teams.
