Accountant
Location: Kuwait
Job Summary:
We are looking for a competent Accountant to manage the company’s financial transactions, from fixed asset management to cost accounting. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of experience and is capable of handling the full accounting cycle with minimal supervision. You will ensure the accuracy of ledgers, compliance with local regulations, and provide insights into the company’s financial health.
Key Responsibilities:
- General Ledger Management: Prepare and post journal entries, maintain the general ledger, and ensure all transactions are recorded accurately.
- Accounts Reconciliation: Perform detailed reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts (bank, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and intercompany accounts).
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
- Cost Control: Monitor and analyze inventory/stock movements (if applicable) and calculate cost of goods sold.
- Payroll Processing: Assist in the preparation of the monthly payroll, including calculating overtime, leave salaries, and end-of-service benefits (indemnities) in compliance with Kuwait Labour Law.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with Kuwait’s tax and social security regulations (PIFRA, VAT). Prepare and file VAT returns accurately and on time.
- Budgeting: Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts.
- Audit Coordination: Liaise with external auditors and provide necessary schedules and justifications.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in Kuwait or the GCC.
- Professional certification (e.g., CMA, CPA, ACCA - partly qualified) is an advantage.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally ERP, QuickBooks, or SAP B1).
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Strong knowledge of Kuwait Tax and Labour Laws.
- Excellent communication skills in English; Arabic is highly preferred.
- Must have a valid transferable residency in Kuwait.
