We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse – Operating Theatre (OT) to join our clinical team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on operating theatre experience, strong knowledge of infection prevention and control practices, and preferably experience in ophthalmology procedures. This role requires excellent clinical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare operating theatre and ensure all surgical equipment and instruments are sterile and ready for procedures
- Assist surgeons and anesthetists during surgical procedures
- Maintain strict infection control standards and ensure compliance with hospital policies
- Monitor patients before, during, and after surgery
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care
- Ensure accurate documentation of patient records and surgical procedures
- Manage surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment efficiently
- Respond promptly to emergencies within the operating theatre
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and quality care
Requirements
- Valid Registered Nurse license
- Proven experience in Operating Theatre nursing
- Strong knowledge of infection prevention and control practices
- Ophthalmology surgical experience is an advantage
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and on-call duties if required
Preferred Skills
- Experience assisting in ophthalmic surgeries
- Knowledge of sterilization techniques and surgical protocols
- Ability to handle advanced surgical equipment
