Job Title: Head Hostess
Job Summary
The Head Hostess oversees the hosting team and ensures guests receive a warm welcome, efficient seating, and excellent first impressions. She coordinates reservations, manages waitlists, and works closely with restaurant management to maintain smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Guest Experience
- Greet guests warmly and professionally upon arrival
- Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests
- Ensure high standards of hospitality and customer satisfaction
2. Team Leadership
- Supervise and train host/hostess staff
- Create work schedules and assign duties
- Monitor team performance and provide guidance
3. Reservation & Seating Management
- Manage reservations using booking systems
- Optimize table allocation and seating flow
- Handle walk-ins and waiting lists efficiently
4. Coordination
- Communicate with kitchen and service staff for table readiness
- Work with management during peak hours or special events
- Ensure smooth coordination between front-of-house and back-of-house
5. Administrative Tasks
- Maintain reservation records and guest databases
- Prepare daily reports (guest count, peak times, etc.)
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of reception/entrance area

- Familiarity with reservation systems (e.g., OpenTable or similar)

Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent (hospitality degree preferred)
- 2–4 years experience as a hostess or in customer service
- Previous supervisory experience is an advantage
Work Environment
- Fast-paced restaurant or hotel setting
- Requires standing for long hours
- Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts are common
