Job Title: Workshop In-Charge
Job Summary:
The Workshop In-Charge is responsible for managing the overall operations of the workshop, ensuring efficient workflow, quality service delivery, and adherence to safety and operational standards. This role involves supervising technicians, coordinating repair and maintenance activities, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily workshop operations and ensure timely completion of jobs.
- Supervise and manage technicians, mechanics, and support staff.
- Allocate work efficiently based on skill level and workload.
- Ensure all repair and maintenance work meets quality standards.
- Monitor productivity, efficiency, and turnaround time.
- Coordinate with Service Advisors for job scheduling and updates.
- Inspect completed work before delivery to ensure quality.
- Maintain workshop tools, equipment, and machinery.
- Ensure availability of spare parts in coordination with the store/procurement team.
- Implement and enforce safety procedures and housekeeping standards.
- Handle technical issues and provide guidance to the team.
- Maintain job records, service reports, and workshop documentation.
- Support training and skill development of workshop staff.
Required Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Automobile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 5–10+ years of experience in workshop/service operations.
- Strong technical knowledge of vehicle systems and repair processes.
- Experience in team supervision and workflow management.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in automotive dealerships or service centers.
- Knowledge of workshop management systems or ERP software.
- Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
