Job Title: Heavy / Trailer Driver
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Heavy/Trailer Driver with a valid heavy vehicle license to transport goods safely over short and long distances. The candidate must have experience handling large vehicles such as trucks, trailers, or container carriers and ensure timely delivery while following all safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy vehicles such as trailers, trucks, or container carriers safely.
- Transport goods to assigned destinations on time.
- Follow all traffic laws, safety standards, and company policies.
- Inspect vehicles before and after trips (brakes, tires, lights, fuel, etc.).
- Secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transit.
- Plan routes efficiently, considering traffic and road conditions.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and fuel usage.
- Report delays, accidents, or mechanical issues immediately.
- Ensure proper documentation for cargo and delivery.
- Assist with loading/unloading when required.
Requirements:
- Valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License (e.g., HMV/Trailer license).
- Proven experience driving heavy vehicles or trailers.
- Good knowledge of road safety rules and highway driving.
- Ability to drive long distances and work flexible hours.
- Physically fit and able to handle long driving periods.
- Basic mechanical knowledge of heavy vehicles.
- Clean driving record.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with long-haul or interstate transport.
- Familiarity with GPS and route planning tools.
- Time management and reliability.
- Basic communication and documentation skills.
Working Conditions:
