Auto Electrician – Job Description
An Auto Electrician diagnoses, repairs, installs, and maintains electrical and electronic systems in vehicles such as cars, trucks, buses, and heavy equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose electrical faults using diagnostic tools and testing equipment
- Repair and replace wiring, fuses, relays, batteries, alternators, starters, and lighting systems
- Install electrical accessories such as alarms, GPS units, audio systems, and reverse cameras
- Service electronic control systems, sensors, and ignition systems
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical manuals
- Perform preventive maintenance on vehicle electrical systems
- Test vehicles after repairs to ensure proper functioning
- Maintain workshop safety and proper documentation
Required Skills
- Knowledge of automotive electrical and electronic systems
- Ability to use diagnostic scanners and multimeters
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Attention to detail
- Basic computer and technical knowledge
- Good communication and teamwork skills
Qualifications
- ITI/Diploma in Auto Electrical or Automobile Engineering preferred
- Experience in vehicle electrical repair and diagnostics
- Valid driving license may be preferred

Salary (India – Approx.)
- Fresher: ₹12,000 – ₹18,000/month
