Senior Lift Technician – Testing & Commissioning
Job Summary
The Senior Lift Technician – Testing & Commissioning is responsible for conducting testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and final handover of elevator and escalator systems. The role ensures that all installations comply with safety regulations, technical specifications, quality standards, and client requirements before operational release.
Key Responsibilities
Testing & Commissioning
- Perform functional testing and commissioning of elevators, escalators, and moving walkways.
- Verify correct installation and operation of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
- Conduct safety tests, load tests, and performance verification according to applicable standards and codes.
- Configure controllers, drives, and monitoring systems.
- Ensure all equipment operates within specified performance parameters.
Troubleshooting & Technical Support
- Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, and software-related faults during commissioning.
- Analyze system errors and implement corrective actions.
- Support installation teams in resolving technical issues.
- Coordinate with engineering and technical support departments when advanced troubleshooting is required.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, safety standards, and company procedures.
- Complete commissioning checklists, inspection reports, and test records.
- Verify all safety devices, emergency functions, and protective systems are fully operational.
- Participate in internal and external inspections.
Project Coordination
- Coordinate commissioning schedules with project managers, installation teams, contractors, and clients.
- Attend site meetings and provide technical updates.
- Support successful project handover and client acceptance testing.
Training & Leadership
- Mentor junior technicians and commissioning staff.
- Provide technical guidance on testing procedures and fault diagnosis.
- Promote a strong safety culture across project sites.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant certification in elevator/lift systems is preferred.
- Valid electrical license (where required by local regulations).
Experience
- 5–10 years of experience in elevator/lift installation, testing, commissioning, or maintenance.
- Experience with major elevator brands such as Otis Worldwide Corporation, KONE Corporation, Schindler Group, or TK Elevator is an advantage.
- Proven experience in high-rise, commercial, residential, or infrastructure projects.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of elevator control systems, VVVF drives, motors, and safety circuits.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of commissioning procedures and industry standards.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with testing instruments and diagnostic software.

- Ability to work independently and lead commissioning activities.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
Working Conditions
- Frequent site-based work, including high-rise buildings and construction environments.
- May require travel between project locations.
