Job Summary
The Catering & Events Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing catering services and events to ensure exceptional guest experiences. This role oversees event sales, client relations, budgeting, logistics, vendor coordination, and on-site event management while ensuring operational efficiency and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Event Planning & Coordination
- Plan, organize, and oversee catering functions, conferences, weddings, corporate events, and social gatherings.
- Coordinate event timelines, layouts, menus, staffing, and logistics.
- Conduct client meetings, site inspections, and event consultations.
- Ensure all event requirements are accurately communicated to operational teams.
Sales & Business Development
- Generate new business opportunities and achieve catering revenue targets.
- Prepare proposals, contracts, quotations, and event packages.
- Develop relationships with corporate clients, event planners, and local organizations.
- Promote catering and event services through networking and marketing initiatives.
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the event process.
- Understand client needs and customize event solutions accordingly.
- Address client concerns and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Conduct post-event follow-ups to gather feedback and encourage repeat business.
Operations Management
- Coordinate with culinary, banquet, service, and support teams to ensure seamless event execution.
- Supervise event setup, service delivery, and breakdown activities.
- Ensure events are executed according to company standards and client expectations.
- Monitor event quality and resolve operational issues promptly.
Financial Management
- Prepare event budgets and monitor expenses.
- Manage event billing, deposits, invoicing, and payment collection.
- Analyze event profitability and prepare performance reports.
- Control costs while maintaining service quality.
Vendor & Supplier Coordination
- Liaise with vendors, decorators, entertainment providers, audiovisual suppliers, and other service partners.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing to maximize value and quality.
- Ensure vendors comply with event requirements and timelines.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food handling regulations.
- Maintain company standards for service quality and guest satisfaction.
- Conduct risk assessments and contingency planning for events.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Event Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in catering, events, hospitality, banquet operations, or sales management.
- Proven experience in event planning and client relationship management.
- Knowledge of catering operations, banquet service, and event logistics.
