Role Summary
The Mobile Crane Operator is responsible for safely operating mobile cranes to lift, move, position, and place heavy materials and equipment on construction, industrial, or project sites. The role requires strict adherence to safety standards and coordination with riggers and site supervisors.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate mobile cranes to lift and move heavy loads safely and accurately.
- Inspect crane equipment before and after use to ensure operational safety.
- Follow lifting plans, load charts, and site instructions.
- Coordinate with riggers, signalers, and site supervisors during lifting operations.
- Ensure proper setup and stabilization of the crane before operations.
- Monitor load weights and ensure they are within safe operating limits.
- Conduct basic maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues.
- Maintain accurate logs of crane usage and operations.
- Follow all health, safety, and environmental regulations on-site.
- Assist in safe loading and unloading of materials when required.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Valid crane operator license or certification (as per local regulations).
- Proven experience operating mobile cranes in construction or industrial environments.
- Strong understanding of load charts, rigging practices, and lifting procedures.
- Good knowledge of safety regulations and site protocols.
- Physically fit and able to work in outdoor and demanding conditions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with site teams.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in construction, oil & gas, infrastructure, or heavy engineering projects.
- Knowledge of different crane types (mobile, hydraulic, all-terrain).
- Strong attention to safety and detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and in complex lifting environments.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting minor issues.
