Role Summary
The Heavy Bus Driver is responsible for safely operating large passenger buses to transport staff, school children, or other passengers. The role ensures safe, timely, and comfortable transportation while strictly following traffic regulations and company transport policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate heavy buses safely on assigned routes.
- Transport passengers to and from designated locations on time.
- Follow traffic laws, safety rules, and company transport procedures.
- Assist passengers while boarding and alighting when required.
- Ensure passenger safety throughout the journey.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the bus.
- Report mechanical issues, accidents, or delays immediately.
- Maintain trip logs, attendance sheets, and transport records.
- Follow scheduled routes and instructions from transport coordinators.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Valid heavy vehicle driving license (bus endorsement as per local regulations).
- Proven experience as a bus driver, preferably heavy bus or passenger transport.
- Good knowledge of road safety rules and traffic regulations.
- Familiarity with local routes and GPS navigation systems.
- Clean driving record preferred.
- Physically fit and able to work in shifts or long hours if required.
