Civil Site Inspector
Job Summary
The Civil Site Inspector is responsible for monitoring and inspecting construction activities on site to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and applicable codes. The role involves daily site inspections, coordination with contractors and engineers, quality control verification, and reporting of work progress and non-conformances.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect civil construction works including earthworks, concrete works, reinforcement, formwork, masonry, waterproofing, and finishing activities.
- Ensure all site activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Conduct routine site inspections and quality checks on materials and workmanship.
- Verify that construction methods and materials meet project standards and codes.
- Identify, report, and track non-conformance issues and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Monitor contractor performance and site progress against project schedules.
- Maintain detailed daily site reports, inspection records, and photographic documentation.
- Coordinate with site engineers, consultants, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Witness testing of materials and site works such as compaction tests, concrete slump tests, and cube tests.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations on site.
- Review and verify work completed for measurement and payment purposes.
- Assist in reviewing shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements.
- Support project engineers in resolving technical and site-related issues.
- Participate in site meetings and provide updates on inspection findings.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 3–8+ years of experience in civil construction inspection or site supervision.
- Experience in building, infrastructure, or industrial construction projects.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, materials, and standards.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with QA/QC procedures and inspection techniques.
- Knowledge of construction testing methods and site documentation.
- Understanding of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work effectively with contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
- Basic computer skills (MS Office and reporting tools).
Working Conditions
- Full-time presence at construction sites.

- May require extended working hours based on project demands.
- Frequent movement across active construction zones.
