Job Summary:
The Logistics & Supply Chain Executive is responsible for coordinating the movement, storage, and distribution of goods and materials to ensure efficient supply chain operations. The role involves managing inventory, coordinating transportation, liaising with suppliers and customers, and ensuring timely delivery while optimizing costs and maintaining high service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor the end-to-end supply chain process.
- Manage procurement, inventory, warehousing, transportation, and distribution activities.
- Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, transport providers, and customers to ensure timely deliveries.
- Monitor inventory levels and maintain accurate stock records.
- Prepare purchase orders, shipping documents, invoices, and delivery schedules.
- Track shipments and resolve logistics issues, delays, or discrepancies.
- Analyze logistics performance and recommend process improvements.
- Negotiate with vendors and logistics service providers to optimize costs and service quality.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, customs regulations, and legal requirements.
- Maintain accurate logistics and inventory records using ERP or inventory management systems.
- Prepare reports on inventory, transportation costs, delivery performance, and supply chain metrics.
- Collaborate with production, sales, finance, and warehouse teams to support business operations.
- Identify and implement strategies to improve supply chain efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Ensure workplace health, safety, and quality standards are maintained.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, procurement, or warehouse operations (preferred).
- Professional certifications such as CSCP, CLTD, or CILT are an advantage.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of logistics, procurement, inventory, and warehouse management.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Good negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of import/export procedures and shipping documentation is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with demand planning and inventory forecasting.
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS) and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Understanding of international trade, customs, and supply chain compliance.
Working Conditions
- Full-time position with work based in an office, warehouse, or distribution center.
- Occasional travel to supplier, customer, or warehouse locations may be required.
- Flexibility to work additional hours during peak operational periods.
- May involve coordination with international suppliers and logistics partners across different time zones.
