Job Summary:
The Project Manager (Civil Engineer) is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing civil construction projects from initiation to completion. The role ensures projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards, contractual requirements, and applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and oversee all phases of civil construction projects.
- Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, architects, contractors, and government authorities.
- Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Manage site activities, supervise project teams, and provide technical guidance.
- Identify project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and legal regulations.
- Prepare project reports, progress updates, and presentations for management and clients.
- Manage procurement activities, subcontractors, and vendor performance.
- Conduct site inspections and quality control reviews to ensure work meets design specifications.
- Resolve technical issues, contractual disputes, and project challenges.
- Oversee project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and completion reports.
- Ensure successful project handover and close-out documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE), Chartered Engineer, or equivalent certification is an advantage.
- 5–10 years of experience in civil engineering and construction project management.
- Proven experience managing infrastructure, commercial, residential, or industrial construction projects.
Required Skills
- Strong project planning and scheduling skills.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and engineering principles.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.

- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of construction safety regulations and quality standards.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with BIM (Building Information Modeling) tools.
- Knowledge of FIDIC or other construction contract frameworks.
- PMP or PRINCE2 Project Management certification is an advantage.
- Experience with ERP systems and project cost management software.
Working Conditions
- Full-time position with a combination of office and construction site work.
- Regular travel to project sites as required.
- May require extended hours to meet project deadlines.
- Must be able to work in outdoor construction environments and adhere to site safety requirements.
