Job Summary
The Workshop Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the engineering workshop, ensuring that production activities are completed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards. The role involves supervising workshop personnel, coordinating work schedules, maintaining equipment, enforcing safety regulations, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily workshop operations and workforce activities.
- Plan, allocate, and monitor jobs to ensure timely completion.
- Ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Monitor productivity and implement improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Inspect completed work to ensure it meets customer and company requirements.
- Enforce workplace health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies.
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings.
- Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of workshop machinery, tools, and equipment.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules.
- Manage inventory of materials, spare parts, tools, and consumables.
- Liaise with engineering, procurement, production, and quality departments.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate workshop technicians and operators.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
- Investigate equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained throughout the workshop.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing and 5S.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5–8 years of experience in an engineering or manufacturing workshop.
- At least 2–3 years of supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of workshop machinery, fabrication, machining, welding, and assembly processes.
- Familiarity with quality management systems and engineering standards.

Working Conditions
