Job Title: Professional Carpenter (Furniture Carpenter / CNC Carpenter)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Professional Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in furniture manufacturing, woodworking, and operating CNC woodworking machinery. The role involves reading technical drawings, fabricating high-quality furniture, assembling components, and ensuring all finished products meet quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders.
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood and other materials to produce furniture.
- Operate CNC woodworking machines and other carpentry equipment safely and efficiently.
- Set up, monitor, and maintain CNC machines for accurate production.
- Install hardware, fittings, and accessories on finished furniture.
- Perform sanding, finishing, and quality inspections on completed products.
- Repair, modify, or refurbish furniture as required.
- Maintain tools, machinery, and a clean, organized work area.
- Follow workplace safety procedures and company quality standards.
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet production schedules.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in carpentry is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Furniture Carpenter, CNC Carpenter, or similar role.
- Knowledge of woodworking techniques, materials, and furniture construction.
- Ability to operate CNC woodworking machines and conventional carpentry tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and measurements.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Good physical fitness and ability to lift heavy materials when required.
- Understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with CAD/CAM software for CNC operations.
- Knowledge of edge banding, laminating, veneering, and furniture finishing.
- Basic machine troubleshooting and maintenance skills.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and time management abilities.
Working Conditions:
- Work in a furniture manufacturing facility or workshop.
- Stand for extended periods and handle woodworking equipment.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- May be required to work overtime to meet production deadlines.
