Job Title: Painter
Job Description:
A Painter is responsible for preparing surfaces and applying paints, coatings, and protective finishes to structures, equipment, machinery, and other surfaces according to project specifications and quality standards. The role involves surface preparation, coating application, inspection, and ensuring all painting activities are completed safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, grinding, and removing rust, old paint, and contaminants.
- Apply paints, primers, protective coatings, and finishing materials using brushes, rollers, spray guns, and other equipment.
- Perform industrial painting activities on steel structures, pipelines, tanks, equipment, and other surfaces.
- Mix and match paints, coatings, and materials according to manufacturer specifications.
- Follow project drawings, coating procedures, and technical specifications.
- Ensure proper thickness, coverage, and finish quality of applied coatings.
- Inspect painted surfaces for defects, uneven coverage, and quality compliance.
- Operate and maintain painting tools, spray equipment, and related machinery.
- Maintain a clean and safe working area during and after painting activities.
- Follow health, safety, and environmental procedures, including proper handling of paints and chemicals.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) such as respirators, gloves, and protective clothing.
- Coordinate with supervisors, abrasive blasters, and other site personnel to complete work requirements.
- Complete work reports and communicate progress or issues to supervisors.
Qualifications:
- High school certificate or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience as an industrial painter or coating technician is preferred.
- Experience in oil & gas, construction, shipyard, or industrial maintenance projects is an advantage.
- Knowledge of painting techniques, coating systems, and surface preparation methods.

- May involve shift work, overtime, and project-based assignments.
