A Carpenter in construction is responsible for building, installing, repairing, and dismantling wooden and other structural components used in buildings and industrial projects.
Job Description – Carpenter
Key Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood, plywood, and other materials.
- Construct and install formwork for concrete structures.
- Build and dismantle scaffolding platforms, temporary structures, and wooden frameworks (where applicable).
- Install doors, windows, partitions, and other fixtures.
- Repair damaged wooden structures and fittings.
- Read and follow construction drawings and specifications.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Keep the work area clean and follow all safety procedures.
Requirements
- High school education or vocational training in carpentry (preferred).
- Typically 2–5 years of carpentry experience in construction or industrial projects.
- Ability to read basic drawings and measurements.
- Knowledge of carpentry tools, materials, and techniques.
- Physical fitness and ability to work at heights when required.
