Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Architectural Inspector to oversee and inspect architectural works on construction projects, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, and applicable building codes. The Architectural Inspector will monitor site activities, identify non-conformities, and coordinate with contractors, consultants, and project teams to ensure timely and high-quality project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Site Inspection & Quality Control
- Conduct daily inspections of architectural works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
- Inspect finishing works including masonry, plastering, painting, flooring, ceiling systems, waterproofing, doors, windows, cladding, roofing, and other architectural elements.
- Verify materials delivered to site meet project specifications and approved submittals.
- Monitor workmanship and ensure quality standards are maintained throughout construction.
- Identify defects, non-conformities, and quality issues, and issue inspection reports with corrective action recommendations.
- Verify that corrective actions have been completed before approving subsequent work.
Project Coordination
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, architects, engineers, and project managers regarding inspection findings.
- Review shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements related to architectural works.
- Attend site meetings and provide technical recommendations on architectural issues.
- Monitor construction progress and report on work completed.
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure all architectural works comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and project specifications.
- Maintain accurate inspection records, site diaries, and quality reports.
- Prepare Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Site Observation Reports (SORs), and inspection checklists.
- Assist in snagging, de-snagging, and final project handover inspections.
- Support testing and commissioning activities where architectural elements are involved.
Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
- Ensure architectural works are executed in accordance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Report unsafe practices and recommend corrective actions.
- Promote compliance with company quality management and safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–7 years of experience in architectural inspection, construction supervision, or quality control.
- Experience in commercial, residential, industrial, or infrastructure construction projects.
- Knowledge of architectural construction methods, materials, and finishing works.
- Familiarity with local building codes and international quality standards.
