Job Summary
The Heavy Vehicle Driver is responsible for operating heavy vehicles safely and efficiently to transport goods, materials, equipment, or passengers as required. The role ensures timely deliveries, vehicle safety, compliance with traffic regulations, and proper maintenance of the assigned vehicle.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate heavy vehicles such as trucks, trailers, tankers, buses, or heavy transport vehicles safely.
- Transport goods, construction materials, equipment, or other assigned loads according to schedules.
- Perform daily vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure roadworthiness.
- Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company driving policies.
- Ensure proper loading, securing, and unloading of cargo.
- Maintain accurate records of trips, fuel consumption, mileage, and delivery documentation.
- Coordinate with supervisors, logistics teams, and customers regarding deliveries and schedules.
- Report vehicle faults, accidents, delays, or maintenance requirements promptly.
- Keep the vehicle clean and ensure basic maintenance checks are completed.
- Assist with loading and unloading activities when required.
- Follow route plans and use GPS/navigation systems effectively.
- Ensure compliance with company HSE requirements and safe driving practices.
- Handle delivery documents, invoices, and proof-of-delivery records.
- Support emergency procedures and report incidents immediately.
Qualifications
- Valid heavy vehicle driving license (appropriate category).
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience driving heavy vehicles.
- Experience in UAE/GCC driving regulations is preferred.
- Knowledge of vehicle operation, road safety, and transportation procedures.
