Job Title: Heavy & Light Vehicle Driver
Job Summary:
We are seeking a responsible and safety-conscious Heavy & Light Vehicle Driver to transport goods, materials, or personnel safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a valid driving license for both heavy and light vehicles, a strong knowledge of traffic regulations, and a commitment to vehicle maintenance and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy and light vehicles safely and in accordance with traffic laws and company policies.
- Transport goods, equipment, materials, or personnel to designated locations on schedule.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues or defects.
- Ensure vehicles are clean, roadworthy, and properly maintained.
- Load, unload, and secure cargo safely to prevent damage during transportation.
- Maintain accurate records of trips, fuel consumption, mileage, deliveries, and vehicle inspections.
- Verify delivery documents, obtain required signatures, and ensure timely completion of deliveries.
- Follow assigned routes while adapting to traffic, weather, and road conditions.
- Comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times.
- Coordinate with dispatchers, supervisors, and customers regarding delivery schedules and route updates.
- Assist with basic vehicle maintenance and arrange servicing when required.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies, accidents, or breakdowns by following company procedures.
- Perform other transportation and logistics duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Valid heavy and light vehicle driving license as required by local regulations.
- Proven experience driving heavy and/or light vehicles.
- Good knowledge of local roads, traffic laws, and safe driving practices.
- Ability to read and understand delivery documents and route instructions.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
