Job Description: Air Diver
An Air Diver is a professional diver who performs underwater tasks using compressed air as a breathing gas supply. Air Divers work in marine, offshore, construction, inspection, maintenance, and repair operations, carrying out activities below the water surface while following strict safety procedures and diving regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform underwater inspections, maintenance, repairs, and installation tasks.
- Operate diving equipment, including air supply systems, communication systems, and underwater tools.
- Conduct underwater surveys, measurements, and assessments.
- Assist with marine construction activities such as welding, cutting, and structural repairs (when qualified).
- Monitor diving conditions and follow approved dive plans and safety procedures.
- Communicate with surface teams and supervisors during diving operations.
- Maintain and inspect diving equipment before and after operations.
- Complete dive records, reports, and documentation.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Certified commercial diver qualification (where applicable).
- Strong knowledge of diving procedures, safety standards, and underwater operations.
- Ability to work in challenging marine environments.
- Good physical fitness, swimming ability, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with underwater tools and equipment is preferred.
Work Environment:
Air Divers may work in offshore platforms, ports, shipyards, dams, pipelines, marine construction sites, and other underwater locations. The role may involve irregular hours, difficult weather conditions, and strict safety requirements.
