Job Title: Heavy Bus Driver – Category 6
Job Summary:
Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of heavy buses to transport passengers on scheduled routes or assigned trips. The role requires excellent driving skills, strict adherence to traffic regulations, and a strong focus on passenger safety, vehicle care, and service quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy buses safely and professionally according to assigned routes and schedules.
- Transport passengers while ensuring comfort, safety, and timely arrival.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
- Check fuel levels, tires, brakes, lights, and other essential vehicle systems before operation.
- Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the bus.
- Follow all traffic laws, company policies, and safety procedures.
- Assist passengers with boarding and ensure safe passenger movement when required.
- Maintain accurate records including trip sheets, mileage, fuel usage, and incident reports.
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, delays, or safety concerns immediately.
- Provide courteous and professional service to passengers.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow established safety protocols.
Requirements:
- Valid Category 6 Heavy Bus Driving License (as applicable).
- Proven experience operating heavy buses or large passenger vehicles.
- Good knowledge of traffic rules, road safety standards, and bus operations.
- Safe driving record with strong attention to passenger safety.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and public holidays if required.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Physically fit and capable of handling the demands of the role.
