Job Description: Heavy Duty Driver
Job Summary
We are seeking a responsible and experienced Heavy Duty Driver to operate heavy vehicles safely and efficiently for the transportation of goods, equipment, or materials. The ideal candidate will ensure timely deliveries, maintain vehicle safety standards, and comply with all traffic laws and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate heavy-duty vehicles such as trucks, trailers, tankers, or construction vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Transport goods, materials, or equipment to designated locations according to schedules.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Ensure vehicles are properly loaded, secured, and unloaded when required.
- Follow all traffic regulations, safety procedures, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate trip logs, delivery records, fuel records, and vehicle inspection reports.
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, or maintenance needs promptly.
- Coordinate with dispatchers, supervisors, and customers regarding delivery schedules.
- Keep vehicles clean and in good working condition.
- Assist with basic vehicle maintenance and ensure timely servicing.
Qualifications
- Valid Heavy Duty Driving License appropriate for the vehicle class.
- Minimum of 2–5 years of heavy-duty driving experience (preferred).
- Good knowledge of road safety regulations and defensive driving practices.
- Ability to operate different types of heavy vehicles safely.
- Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance and inspections.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or long-distance routes, if required.
