Talent Acquisition Specialist — Job Description
Job Summary
The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for identifying, attracting, assessing, and hiring qualified candidates to meet the organization’s staffing requirements. The role manages the recruitment process from sourcing candidates through onboarding while ensuring a positive candidate experience and alignment with company hiring standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand hiring requirements and prepare effective recruitment strategies.
- Source candidates through job portals, social media, professional networks, referrals, databases, and other channels.
- Review resumes and applications and shortlist suitable candidates.
- Conduct initial screening interviews and assess candidates against job requirements.
- Coordinate interviews between candidates and hiring managers.
- Maintain regular communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process.
- Manage job postings and ensure vacancies are advertised accurately and effectively.
- Build and maintain a strong candidate pipeline for current and future vacancies.
- Conduct reference and background checks where required.
- Coordinate salary discussions, offer preparation, and offer negotiations.
- Prepare and issue employment offers in coordination with HR.
- Support pre-employment documentation and onboarding activities.
- Maintain accurate and confidential candidate and recruitment records.
- Track recruitment metrics such as time-to-hire, cost-per-hire, source effectiveness, and offer acceptance rates.
- Develop and maintain relationships with recruitment agencies, universities, and other talent sources.
- Ensure recruitment activities comply with company policies and applicable employment regulations.
- Promote a professional and positive employer brand and candidate experience.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in talent acquisition, recruitment, or HR.
- Experience using applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruitment platforms.
- Good understanding of sourcing and candidate screening techniques.
- Strong interviewing and assessment skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Good knowledge of MS Office, particularly Word and Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple vacancies and priorities effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
- Knowledge of employment laws and recruitment best practices is an advantage.
