HR Generalist – Operations – Job Description
Job Summary
The HR Generalist – Operations is responsible for managing and supporting day-to-day human resources operations, ensuring smooth implementation of HR policies, employee services, attendance and leave management, payroll coordination, employee relations, compliance, and HR administration. The role works closely with employees, managers, and management to ensure effective HR processes and a positive employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day HR operations and provide timely support to employees and managers.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, personnel files, and HR databases.
- Manage employee onboarding, induction, documentation, transfers, promotions, and offboarding processes.
- Coordinate attendance, leave, overtime, and shift records.
- Coordinate monthly payroll inputs, including attendance, leave, overtime, deductions, and other employee-related changes.
- Ensure timely completion of joining formalities, statutory documentation, and employee records.
- Respond to employee queries related to HR policies, benefits, leave, attendance, payroll, and company procedures.
- Support employee engagement initiatives, welfare activities, and internal communication.
- Assist in managing employee grievances and disciplinary matters in accordance with company policies.
- Coordinate performance appraisal and employee evaluation processes.
- Support recruitment activities, including job postings, interview coordination, candidate documentation, and joining formalities.
- Maintain HR reports and dashboards related to headcount, attendance, attrition, leave, recruitment, and other HR metrics.
- Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws, statutory requirements, and company policies.
- Coordinate with government authorities, consultants, and external agencies when required.
- Maintain and update HR policies, procedures, forms, and employee documentation.
- Support training and development activities, including training coordination and maintaining training records.
- Assist management in implementing HR initiatives and organizational policies.
- Conduct exit formalities and assist in exit interviews and employee separation processes.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee information and sensitive HR records.
- Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, employee services, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
- MBA/PG Diploma in Human Resources is an advantage.
- Relevant experience in HR operations, generalist HR, or HR administration.
- Working knowledge of HR policies, employee lifecycle processes, and applicable labour regulations.
- Experience with HRMS, payroll systems, and Microsoft Office applications.

Working Conditions
The HR Generalist – Operations will primarily work in an office environment and will interact regularly with employees, managers, management, and external stakeholders. The role may require occasional travel between company offices, project sites, or other work locations depending on business requirements.
