Machine Operator – Job Description
We are looking for a skilled and responsible Machine Operator to operate, monitor, and maintain production machinery safely and efficiently. The Machine Operator will ensure machines are running according to production requirements while maintaining product quality, safety, and productivity standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate production machines and equipment according to standard operating procedures.
- Set up machines and adjust operating parameters as required.
- Monitor machine performance and production processes.
- Inspect products during production to ensure required quality standards are met.
- Identify and report machine faults, abnormalities, or breakdowns promptly.
- Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and basic maintenance of machinery.
- Replace or adjust basic machine components when required.
- Maintain accurate production, machine, and quality records.
- Follow production schedules and achieve daily production targets.
- Minimize material wastage and ensure efficient use of raw materials.
- Follow all company safety rules, operating procedures, and PPE requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Assist maintenance and technical teams during machine servicing and repairs.
- Report defective products and production issues to the supervisor.
- Work effectively as part of a production team.
Requirements
- High school/secondary education or equivalent; technical training is an advantage.
- Previous experience as a Machine Operator or in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Basic understanding of machinery and production processes.
- Ability to read and follow operating instructions and safety procedures.
- Good attention to detail and quality awareness.
- Ability to identify basic machine problems.
- Physically fit and able to work in a production environment.
- Willingness to work shifts, overtime, or weekends when required.
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious.
