Arabic Teacher – Middle & High School
We are seeking a qualified, passionate, and dedicated Arabic Teacher to teach students at the Middle and High School levels. The successful candidate will provide engaging and effective Arabic language instruction, develop students’ proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, listening, and comprehension, and foster an appreciation of Arabic language, literature, and culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Arabic lessons aligned with the school curriculum and learning objectives.
- Teach Arabic language skills, including reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension.
- Develop students’ communication skills and confidence in using Arabic in academic and everyday contexts.
- Introduce students to Arabic literature, poetry, history, culture, and traditions as appropriate to the curriculum.
- Prepare lesson plans, teaching resources, presentations, activities, and assessments.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and language backgrounds.
- Assess student learning through assignments, quizzes, projects, examinations, and oral activities.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to support student progress.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessment results, and student achievement.
- Establish a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
- Encourage active participation through discussions, role plays, presentations, group activities, and language-based projects.
- Integrate appropriate digital tools and technology to enhance Arabic language learning.
- Support students in preparing for internal and external examinations where applicable.
- Encourage participation in Arabic-related cultural activities, competitions, events, and school programs.
- Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues regarding student progress and development.
- Collaborate with other teachers and participate in department meetings, professional development, and school activities.
- Uphold school policies, safeguarding procedures, and professional standards.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Arabic, Arabic Language and Literature, Arabic Education, or a related field.
- Recognized teaching qualification/certification as required by the relevant education authority.
- Previous experience teaching Arabic at the Middle and High School levels is preferred.
- Strong command of Modern Standard Arabic in both written and spoken forms.
- Excellent knowledge of Arabic grammar, vocabulary, literature, and language-learning methodologies.
- Strong English communication skills; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
- Excellent classroom management and student engagement skills.
- Ability to differentiate instruction and support students with diverse learning needs.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and digital learning resources.
Preferred Experience
- Experience teaching in an international, British, American, CBSE, IB, or other recognized school curriculum.
- Experience preparing students for Arabic language examinations.
- Experience teaching Arabic as a first or additional language.
- Experience organizing Arabic cultural events, language clubs, competitions, or activities.
