Job Description – English Teacher
Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and qualified English Teacher to plan and deliver engaging English lessons that develop students' reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, vocabulary, and communication skills. The teacher will create a positive learning environment, assess student progress, and provide appropriate support to help students achieve their academic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging English lessons in accordance with the curriculum.
- Teach grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
- Develop lesson plans, teaching materials, assignments, activities, and assessments.
- Use creative and interactive teaching methods to encourage student participation.
- Assess and monitor students' academic progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Identify students who require additional support and provide appropriate guidance.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, assessments, and student performance.
- Encourage students to develop confidence in spoken and written English.
- Promote critical thinking, creativity, communication, and independent learning.
- Maintain a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress when required.
- Participate in staff meetings, academic activities, workshops, and school events.
- Support extracurricular activities such as debates, public speaking, reading clubs, drama, and writing competitions.
- Stay updated with modern teaching methods, educational resources, and curriculum developments.
- Follow school policies, academic standards, safeguarding requirements, and professional conduct guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field.
- Teaching qualification/certification such as B.Ed., TESOL, TEFL, CELTA, or equivalent, depending on the institution and location.

- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of English grammar, literature, and language skills.
- Good classroom management and student engagement abilities.
- Familiarity with digital teaching tools and online learning platforms is an advantage.
