Site Engineer
Job Summary
We are looking for a qualified and detail-oriented Site Engineer to supervise and coordinate construction activities at the project site. The Site Engineer will ensure that work is carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and project schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and monitor daily construction activities at the project site.
- Ensure work is executed according to approved drawings, specifications, and method statements.
- Coordinate with the Site Manager, Project Manager, consultants, subcontractors, and other site personnel.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, plans, and technical specifications.
- Set out and establish reference points, levels, and dimensions as required.
- Monitor the quality of materials and workmanship used on site.
- Conduct regular site inspections and identify technical or construction issues.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and ensure proper execution of their works.
- Monitor project progress and provide daily/weekly progress updates.
- Assist in preparing site reports, measurements, inspection requests, and other project documentation.
- Ensure materials, tools, equipment, and manpower are available as required.
- Coordinate material inspections, testing, and approvals where applicable.
- Identify discrepancies between drawings and actual site conditions and coordinate for necessary clarification.
- Ensure construction activities comply with health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Assist with quantity measurements, material requirements, and project cost control.
- Monitor work schedules and assist in achieving project milestones.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and safe working conditions at the site.
- Maintain accurate records of site activities, measurements, inspections, and completed works.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 2–5 years of relevant site experience, preferably in construction.
- Good knowledge of construction methods, materials, and site procedures.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of quality control and site inspection procedures.
- Good knowledge of MS Office; familiarity with AutoCAD is preferred.
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Good organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet project deadlines.
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements.
