QC Engineer
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced QC Engineer to ensure that construction and engineering activities comply with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, and applicable codes. The QC Engineer will monitor workmanship and materials, conduct inspections and tests, maintain quality documentation, and coordinate with site teams, consultants, and subcontractors to resolve quality issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain the project Quality Control Plan and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
- Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and applicable standards.
- Conduct inspections of incoming materials, ongoing works, and completed activities.
- Coordinate material inspections, testing, sampling, and laboratory tests as required.
- Review material certificates, test reports, inspection records, and other quality documents.
- Raise and follow up Inspection Requests (IRs), Material Inspection Requests (MIRs), and related quality documentation.
- Identify non-conformities and coordinate corrective and preventive actions.
- Prepare and issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) when required.
- Monitor the quality of workmanship performed by subcontractors and site teams.
- Coordinate with consultants, clients, project engineers, and subcontractors regarding quality inspections and approvals.
- Ensure that approved materials and construction methods are used on site.
- Maintain accurate quality records, inspection reports, checklists, and test results.
- Participate in site inspections, quality meetings, and project progress meetings.
- Review drawings, specifications, and technical documents for quality requirements.
- Monitor calibration and proper use of inspection and testing equipment.
- Assist in preparing project quality reports and documentation for handover.
- Ensure compliance with applicable international standards, project requirements, and company quality procedures.
- Provide guidance to site personnel regarding quality requirements and corrective actions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, rework, and quality-related delays.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant engineering discipline.
- 3–7 years of relevant QC/QA experience, preferably in construction or engineering projects.
- Strong knowledge of quality control procedures, inspection methods, and construction standards.
- Experience with ITPs, method statements, inspection requests, NCRs, and quality documentation.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of applicable international standards and project specifications.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of AutoCAD and quality management systems is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with multiple teams.
