Technician
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Technician to perform installation, maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment, systems, and site installations. The Technician will work under the supervision of engineers or supervisors to ensure that all technical work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting activities as assigned.
- Perform technical work according to approved drawings, specifications, work instructions, and procedures.
- Inspect equipment, systems, tools, and installations to identify faults or potential problems.
- Diagnose technical issues and carry out appropriate corrective actions.
- Operate and maintain tools, machinery, and testing equipment safely.
- Assist engineers and supervisors with technical activities and site requirements.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance as scheduled.
- Ensure equipment and systems are functioning properly after installation or repair.
- Record completed work, maintenance activities, inspections, and identified faults.
- Report technical problems, defective equipment, and material requirements to the supervisor.
- Coordinate with other technicians, supervisors, engineers, and subcontractors as required.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and use of tools, equipment, and materials.
- Maintain good housekeeping in the work area.
- Follow company safety procedures, permit requirements, and applicable health and safety regulations.
- Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Support testing, commissioning, and handover activities when required.
- Minimize material wastage and ensure efficient use of resources.
- Respond promptly to breakdowns and urgent maintenance requirements.
Requirements
- Diploma, ITI, technical certificate, or relevant vocational qualification in the applicable trade.
- 2–5 years of relevant technical experience, preferably in construction, maintenance, engineering, or industrial projects.
- Good practical knowledge of the relevant technical trade.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, testing instruments, and technical equipment.
- Basic ability to read technical drawings and instructions.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Physically fit and willing to work in a site environment.
