Job Description — Engineering Technical Trainer

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Technical Trainer to design and deliver technical training programs for engineering, production, site, installation, and technical staff. The candidate will be responsible for developing practical and theoretical training content, conducting classroom and hands-on sessions, evaluating employee competency, and ensuring that technical teams have the knowledge and skills required to perform their roles safely and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Assess technical training needs based on employee roles, project requirements, skill gaps, and performance.
Develop and deliver technical training programs, presentations, manuals, SOPs, and learning materials.
Conduct classroom, workshop, site-based, and hands-on technical training sessions.
Train employees on engineering principles, technical procedures, equipment, materials, tools, and work methods.
Provide practical demonstrations and guide trainees through hands-on exercises.
Develop training programs for new employees, existing staff, supervisors, and technical teams.
Conduct induction and technical orientation programs for new employees.
Train employees on engineering drawings, specifications, installation methods, quality requirements, and technical standards.
Provide training related to workplace safety and correct use of tools and equipment in coordination with the HSE team.
Develop competency-based training modules and assessment methods.
Conduct written, practical, and skill-based assessments to evaluate trainee performance.
Maintain individual training records, attendance, assessment results, and competency reports.
Identify skill gaps and recommend appropriate retraining or development programs.
Work closely with engineering, production, quality, project, HR, and HSE departments to identify training requirements.
Support technical teams in understanding new products, systems, machinery, software, and technologies.
Provide coaching and on-the-job technical guidance where required.
Monitor the effectiveness of training programs and continuously improve training methods.
Keep training materials updated based on changes in technology, standards, company procedures, and project requirements.
Conduct refresher training following quality issues, safety incidents, process changes, or identified competency gaps.
Maintain a structured technical training calendar and ensure timely completion of planned programs.
Prepare regular training reports and present progress and competency updates to management.
