Job Summary:
We are looking for a creative and technically sound Aluminum Facade Designer to lead the design and engineering of complex facade systems. This role involves conceptual design, structural analysis, system development, and the creation of 3D models to deliver innovative and buildable facade solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and engineer various aluminum facade systems (Unitized Curtain Wall, Stick System, Windows, Doors, etc.) from concept to completion.
- Perform structural calculations for aluminum and glass components under wind, seismic, and dead loads, often in coordination with a structural engineer.
- Use 3D modeling software (such as Revit, Rhino, or SolidWorks) to create detailed models and conduct clash detection.
- Develop and detail new facade system profiles and connections.
- Select appropriate materials (aluminum alloys, glass types, gaskets, seals, fasteners) based on performance and project requirements.
- Lead the technical review of architectural drawings and specifications.
- Prepare comprehensive technical submittals, including design calculations, material specs, and test reports, for client and consultant approval.
- Resolve complex design and site coordination issues.
- Provide technical support to the drafting, production, and installation teams.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Mechanical/Architectural Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the design and engineering of aluminum facades and curtain wall systems, with proven experience in the UAE/GCC market.
- High proficiency in 3D modeling software (Revit is highly preferred) and AutoCAD.
- Strong knowledge of structural principles related to facade design and relevant international standards (e.g., AAMA, ASTM, ASHRAE).
- Experience with structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, or similar) is a strong advantage.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a creative approach to design challenges.
- Strong project management and communication skills to liaise with clients and consultants.
