Report to: Senior Electrical Engineer / Project Manager
Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE
Salary Range: AED 8,000 – 11,000 (All Inclusive)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Site Engineer – Electrical to oversee the on-site execution of electrical works for our construction, MEP, and infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical installations are carried out according to the approved designs, project specifications, and relevant UAE authority standards. This role requires a strong technical foundation, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage workforces and interfaces on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
- On-Site Execution & Supervision:
- Supervise and direct the electrical foremen, technicians, and laborers on-site.
- Monitor the daily progress of electrical installation activities, including cable laying, panel installations, lighting, and power systems.
- Ensure all site work is performed in a safe manner, adhering to company and project HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) protocols.
- Conduct regular site inspections to check work quality and identify any issues or deviations.
- Technical Support & Quality Control:
- Provide technical guidance to the construction team for the interpretation of electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Assist in the preparation of Method Statements, Inspection Request (IR), and Material Approval Request (MAR) submissions.
- Conduct quality checks on delivered materials and installed works to ensure compliance with project QA/QC requirements.
- Assist in the testing and commissioning of electrical systems, including MV/LV switchgear and transformers.
- Authority Compliance:
- Work closely with the Senior Engineer to ensure all site activities comply with the regulations of ADDC, TRANSCO, and other relevant UAE authorities.
- Prepare and submit necessary documentation for site inspections by authorities.
- Coordinate and facilitate No-Objection Certificates (NOCs) and final authority connections.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and daily site records, including work progress reports, inspection reports, and as-built drawings mark-ups.
- Report daily progress, potential risks, and any site issues to the Senior Engineer/Project Manager.
- Procurement & Material Management:
- Assist in the preparation of material submittals and coordinate with the procurement team for timely delivery of materials to site.
- Verify that all materials received on-site are as per approved submittals and in good condition.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical construction, specifically within the UAE market.
- Authority Approval: Must hold a valid approval from DEWA, ADDC, TRANSCO, or any other relevant UAE authority. This is a mandatory requirement.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics.
- Strong understanding of MV/LV systems, switchgear, transformers, and cable networks.
- Familiarity with UAE electrical regulations and international standards (IEC, BS, etc.).
- Soft Skills:
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem-solving attitude and ability to work under pressure.
- Basic leadership skills to manage a site team effectively.
