Pastry & Bakery Head Chef
Salary Range: 9,000 – 10,000 SAR
Job Summary:
The Pastry & Bakery Head Chef is the creative and operational leader responsible for all pastry, bakery, and dessert offerings. This role demands a high level of artistry, precision, and managerial skill to develop menus, manage a team, and maintain the highest standards of quality and consistency. The chef will oversee the entire pastry section, from bread production to intricate plated desserts, ensuring profitability and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Menu Development & Innovation: Create, design, and cost all pastry, bakery, and dessert items, including breads, viennoiserie, cakes, pastries, and plated desserts for restaurants and events.
- Kitchen Management: Oversee the daily operations of the pastry and bakery department, including production planning, scheduling, and inventory management.
- Quality Control: Ensure all products meet established standards for taste, presentation, and consistency. Conduct regular tastings and inspections.
- Team Leadership & Training: Recruit, train, mentor, and manage a team of pastry cooks and bakers. Foster a positive and productive work environment.
- Cost Control & Budgeting: Manage food costs, labor costs, and kitchen budgets. Minimize waste through efficient production practices and inventory rotation.
- Compliance & Safety: Enforce strict hygiene and sanitation standards (HACCP) throughout the pastry section. Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
- Supplier Management: Source and evaluate ingredients and equipment, building relationships with suppliers to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Culinary degree or certification in Pastry Arts is required.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in professional pastry kitchens, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role as a Head Pastry Chef or Executive Pastry Chef.
- Exceptional creativity and a strong portfolio of pastry work.
- Proven expertise in various pastry disciplines: bread, chocolate, sugar work, and cake decoration.
- Strong financial acumen and experience with kitchen management software.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
