Role Summary:
As a NICU Nurse at SEHA, you will provide highly specialized care to critically ill and premature newborns. This role demands exceptional technical skill, profound compassion, and the ability to support families during an intensely emotional time. You will serve as a vital communicator, translating complex medical information and providing emotional support to Tagalog-speaking parents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive care to neonates requiring intensive care, including monitoring vital signs, managing ventilators, administering IV medications and total parenteral nutrition (TPN).
- Perform delicate procedures such as umbilical line care, IV insertion, and assisting with intubations.
- Assess subtle changes in a neonate's condition and respond promptly to emergencies.
- Implement developmental care practices to support the neonate's growth in the NICU environment.
- Foster a family-centered care approach by educating, comforting, and involving Tagalog-speaking parents in their baby's care as appropriate.
- Collaborate closely with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and lactation consultants.
- Maintain a meticulous and sterile environment to prevent infections.
- Document all aspects of care with extreme accuracy.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Valid nursing license & BSN or equivalent.
- Minimum 2-3 years of recent experience in a Level III NICU.
- Fluency in Tagalog and English is mandatory.
- Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification is required.
- Certification in Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing (RNC-NIC) is highly preferred.
- Extraordinary patience, attention to detail, and emotional resilience.
- Excellent communication skills to build trust with vulnerable families.
