Manager – Construction / Manager – Project
Position Title: Construction Manager / Project Manager
Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE
Reporting To: Head of Operations / Project Director
Job Summary:
To have overall responsibility for the successful planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closure of a major project. The role encompasses full P&L responsibility, client satisfaction, and delivery of the project on time, within budget, and to specified quality and HSE standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overall Project Leadership: Direct and manage the entire project lifecycle from initiation to handover.
- Planning & Scheduling: Develop the master project schedule (in coordination with the Planning Manager), monitor critical path, and implement recovery plans for delays.
- Budget & Cost Control: Manage the project budget, forecast costs, approve expenditures, and control variations to ensure profitability.
- Team Management: Lead, motivate, and supervise the project team including engineers, superintendents, and supervisors.
- Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for the client, consultant, and other key stakeholders. Manage relationships and ensure clear communication.
- Contract Administration: Oversee all contractual matters, including claims, variations, and correspondence.
- HSE & Quality: Champion a "Zero Accident" culture. Ensure the project's quality management plan is rigorously implemented.
- Reporting: Provide accurate and timely progress, financial, and risk reports to senior management.
Eligibility & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in project/construction management, with a proven record of successfully delivering large infrastructure projects in the UAE/GCC.
- Must have managed projects in at least two of the following sectors: roads & bridges, sewage/water networks, desalination/power plants, or high-rise buildings.
- Strong expertise in contracts (FIDIC), project management software (Primavera P6), and cost control systems.
- PMP or similar certification is a significant advantage.
