Position: Cost Control Engineer
Department: Project Controls / Project Management
Reporting To: Project Controls Manager / Project Manager
Estimated Monthly Salary: QAR 18,000 - 19,000
Job Summary:
The Cost Control Engineer is responsible for the financial health of awarded EPCIC projects. This role involves monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on all project costs, forecasting final expenditure, identifying variances, and implementing controls to ensure the project is delivered within the approved budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and the integrated project budget.
- Track all project commitments, expenditures, and costs against the established budget and baseline.
- Prepare accurate cost forecasts, cash flow projections, and Estimate at Completion (EAC) reports.
- Analyze variances between actual costs and budget, investigate causes, and report findings to project management.
- Work closely with the planning team to integrate cost and schedule data for Earned Value Management (EVM) analysis.
- Review and approve payment certificates to vendors and subcontractors for alignment with the budget.
- Prepare and present detailed cost reports and dashboards for weekly and monthly project reviews.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of total experience, with at least 5 years dedicated to Cost Control on major projects.
- Industry Knowledge: Must have hands-on experience in the Oil & Gas EPCIC industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in cost control software (e.g., Primavera P6, SAP, or equivalent), advanced Excel skills, and a strong understanding of EVM principles.
