Head Chef
Location: Al Beiruti Qatar
Reports to: Restaurant Manager / Operations Director
Overview:
The Head Chef is the visionary and operational leader of the kitchen. You will be responsible for the entire culinary direction, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, consistency, and innovation that reflect the authentic and modern spirit of Al Beiruti. You will manage costs, drive menu development, and lead a team of culinary professionals to excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Kitchen Leadership & Operations: Oversee all daily kitchen operations, ensuring seamless service across all sections. Create and implement efficient systems and workflows.
- Menu Development & Costing: Design, cost, and regularly update menus in line with the restaurant's concept, seasonal availability, and market trends. Engineer dishes for both quality and profitability.
- Quality & Consistency: Maintain the highest standards for all dishes. Implement and enforce strict quality control measures and standardized recipes.
- Financial Management: Manage the kitchen budget, including food costs (COGS), labor costs, and inventory. Minimize waste through effective ordering, storage, and portion control.
- Team Management & Training: Recruit, train, mentor, and schedule all kitchen staff. Foster a positive, professional, and high-performance team culture. Conduct regular performance reviews.
- Hygiene & Safety: Ensure full compliance with all HACCP, local health and safety, and sanitation regulations. Maintain a spotless and organized kitchen environment.
- Vendor Relations: Source and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best quality ingredients at optimal prices.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a high-volume, upscale casual or fine-dining restaurant.
- Extensive expertise in Lebanese/Middle Eastern cuisine is mandatory.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Excellent financial acumen and experience with inventory management systems.
- Culinary arts degree or equivalent certification.
- In-depth knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP certification preferred).
