Reporting To: Construction Manager / Area Superintendent
Estimated Monthly Salary: QAR 4,500 + Allowances (Site, Food, Transportation)
Job Summary:
The Tank Supervisor is a hands-on field leadership role responsible for the direct supervision and safe execution of storage tank and associated piping fabrication and erection activities. This role ensures all work is performed in accordance with project specifications, quality standards, and strict safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Directly supervise a workforce of welders, fitters, riggers, and helpers during tank fabrication, erection, and piping installation.
- Ensure strict compliance with all Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems, safety procedures, and site regulations.
- Oversee day-to-day activities to ensure adherence to approved drawings, welding procedures, and quality control plans.
- Liaise with QA/QC inspectors for hold points, witness tests (e.g., NDT, hydrotest), and resolution of quality issues.
- Monitor work progress, allocate resources efficiently, and report daily accomplishments and issues to the Construction Manager.
- Enforce housekeeping standards and a culture of safety on the worksite.
- Complete necessary documentation, including daily logs, inspection requests, and manpower reports.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry, with a focus on tank farm construction, maintenance, or fabrication.
- Certifications/Skills: Must pass a company-administered English language proficiency test. In-depth knowledge of tank construction API standards (e.g., API 650), welding processes, rigging, and lifting. Strong leadership and safety management skills.
