Bell Attendant (Bellhop/Bellperson)
Position: Bell Attendant
Department: Front Office / Bell Services
Reports To: Bell Captain / Assistant Manager - Front Office
Job Summary:
The Bell Attendant provides a warm welcome and farewell to guests, assisting with the transportation of luggage to and from guest rooms, vehicles, and storage areas. They offer courteous and efficient service, provide initial property orientation, and support valet and door staff as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Luggage Handling: Safely transport guest luggage upon arrival and departure, delivering it promptly to the correct room.
- Guest Escort & Orientation: Escort guests to their rooms, explaining room features, and providing a brief orientation of hotel facilities.
- Information Conduit: Provide information on hotel services, outlets, and events. Deliver messages, parcels, or amenities to guest rooms as requested.
- Logistics Support: Maintain the luggage storage room and issue claim checks. Assist with the delivery of packages, mail, and hotel supplies.
- Valet & Door Support: Coordinate with the door staff and valet to ensure smooth guest flow at the entrance. May assist in parking or retrieving vehicles in the absence of dedicated valet staff.
- Equipment Maintenance: Keep the bell cart, lobby, and luggage storage areas clean and orderly.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a similar role is an advantage.
- Strong physical stamina to lift heavy luggage and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a service-oriented attitude.
- Knowledge of local area is beneficial.
- Must have a valid driver's license in good standing (if required for valet duties).
