Mechanic / Oil Technician (Driving License Required)
Position: Mechanic / Oil Technician
Department: Workshop / Quick Service / Maintenance
Reports To: Service Advisor / Workshop Supervisor
Salary Range: AED 3,000 – AED 3,500 per month
Job Purpose:
To perform efficient and accurate basic maintenance services and inspections on a variety of vehicles, ensuring customer satisfaction and vehicle safety. This role requires a valid driving license for vehicle movement and test drives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform oil changes, lubrication services, and filter replacements (oil, air, fuel, cabin) on schedule.
- Conduct routine maintenance inspections of engines, brakes, suspension, steering, tires, and other mechanical components, reporting any issues.
- Identify and diagnose basic mechanical problems and assist senior mechanics with more complex repairs as needed.
- Drive customer vehicles for short test drives to verify repairs or to move them within the service facility.
- Maintain accurate and detailed service records on work orders and in the workshop management system.
- Follow all workshop procedures, quality standards, and safety protocols meticulously.
- Perform tire services including rotation, balancing, and inflation checks.
- Top up vehicle fluids (coolant, brake fluid, power steering fluid, washer fluid).
- Keep the service bay and tools clean, organized, and in good working order.
- Provide clear and basic explanations to the Service Advisor regarding vehicle condition.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Essential: A valid driver's license is mandatory for this role.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a fast-paced automotive workshop, lube center, or similar environment.
- Skills: Proficiency in basic mechanical tasks and the use of common workshop tools and equipment.
- Knowledge: Good understanding of vehicle systems and maintenance schedules.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to lift heavy objects (e.g., tires, batteries) and stand for extended periods.
