Job Description:
The Furniture & Gypsum Carpenter is a skilled craftsman responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing furniture and gypsum (drywall) components. This dual-skill role is essential for interior fit-out projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Furniture Carpentry:
- Read and interpret workshop drawings and plans.
- Construct, assemble, install, and repair custom furniture, cabinets, wardrobes, and joinery items.
- Work with various materials including wood, MDF, plywood, laminates, and veneers.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery (saws, routers, planers, etc.).
- Execute precise measuring, cutting, shaping, and fitting of components.
- Apply fittings, handles, and hardware.
- Gypsum (Drywall) Carpentry:
- Install metal stud framing for walls and ceilings.
- Cut, fit, and install gypsum boards (plasterboards).
- Create and install decorative gypsum elements (cornices, ceiling roses, partitions, archways).
- Apply joint compounds (plaster) for taping, finishing, and smoothing seams.
- Prepare surfaces for final painting or finishing.
Candidate Requirements:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience in both furniture making/carpentry and gypsum/drywall installation.
- GCC (UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, etc.) work experience is mandatory.
- In-depth knowledge of materials, tools, and techniques for both disciplines.
- Ability to work from technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong focus on precision, quality, and finishing details.
- Good physical condition for lifting and manual work.
